Mini Daffs Photo FDFerris |
Of four degrees
Week upon week of
Fourteen degrees
Winds that howled
As wolves-a-hunting
But yesterday
But today
Fifty degrees
Forty degress
Sun and sky send snow on her way
It's a short reprieve I know
]
But it's Spring, peeking around the corner
Just before she enters the year
I return form the warmth tomorrow and I am wishing the cold away!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely! Daffodils smell like butter with lemon and sugar, like creaming them together for lemon butter cookies. Against the damp of decaying forest undergrowth, they'd be lemon butter on bitter orange and oak moss.
ReplyDeleteRoberta!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home :-)
I'll be wishing right along with you....
Can't wait to hear/read more about your trip.
Welcome Nance!
Daffies DO smell like that :-)
I can't wait to see their happy little faces...
Soon, soon (but not soon enough lol at least not here in the NEast).....
